These Chocolate Peanut Butter Blended Baked Oats are one version of the popular TikTok recipe. Made with rolled oats, banana, cocoa powder, peanut butter and chocolate chips, they are vegan, gluten-free and baked in individual ramekins in the oven or air fryer for a decadent yet healthy breakfast.

Have you jumped on the TikTok baked oats train yet? If not, you are seriously missing out! When I first saw this recipe trending on TikTok, I thought it looked cool and couldn’t wait to try it. I mean, oatmeal is one of my favorite foods ever so why not try another innovative way to eat it? Well, I tried it and it was love at first bite!
Seriously. If you like oatmeal, you will love these. If you like cake, you will definitely love these. If all of the above AND you like the chocolate-peanut butter flavor combo, you must make these and see for yourself!
This recipe is not my first baked blended oats attempt. My Banana Blueberry Baked Oats is easily one of the most popular recipes on the blog and rightly so because it resembles a decadent blueberry muffin, minus the butter, sugar and refined flour.
Ever since I started experimenting with baked oats, I wanted to create a version that’s chocolate-based and vegan. While my Banana Blueberry Baked Oats recipe uses eggs, these chocolate peanut butter ones are eggless and dairy-free. The addition of a ripe mashed banana and almond milk makes them perfectly moist and ½ teaspoon of baking powder is just enough to produce fluffy, cake-like texture.
Biscoff Baked Oats is another great vegan baked oats recipe you should try.

Ingredient notes

- Rolled Oats: use old fashioned rolled oats for best results. If you are gluten-free, check the label to make sure the oats are truly gluten-free. You can also use store bought oat flour which is more expensive but already has fine flour texture.
- Banana: ripe or overripe banana will give you the best texture and flavor. Brown skin is fine.
- Peanut Butter: creamy peanut butter with minimal ingredients (peanuts & salt) is best.
- Cocoa Powder: use good quality unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder. I like this kind best.
- Maple Syrup: to add some sweetness to baked oats use 100% pure maple syrup. Mine is always from Maine.
- Almond Milk: I used unsweetened almond milk but any plant-based or dairy milk will work in this recipe.
- Vanilla Extract: to add another layer of flavor, use 100% vanilla extract.
- Salt: to balance out the flavors. I like pink Himalayan salt.
- Baking Powder: since we’re not adding eggs, baking powder will help the baked oats rise.
- Dark Chocolate Chips: the amount of chocolate chips will depend on your preferences. For vegan baked oats, use vegan chocolate chips.
How to make chocolate peanut butter baked oats
Step 1: Place all ingredients in a high speed blender, such as Ninja or Vitamix, except for chocolate chips.

Step 2: Blend everything until smooth. The batter will be thick but pourable.

Step 3: Stir in most of the chocolate chips, leaving some for the top.

Step 4: Pour the batter into 4 greased ramekins. Decorate with some peanut butter, about 1 teaspoon for each ramekin and the remaining chocolate chips. Runny peanut butter works best.

Step 5: Bake in 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes or in an air fryer for about 10 minutes (see below).

Storage and reheating tips
You can make TikTok Chocolate Peanut Butter Baked Oats ahead of time and enjoy later. Just let them cool completely, cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge for up to 5 days. When ready to eat, uncover and reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds. You can also eat them cold but they’re better warm!

Recipe FAQs
Yes! The downside of blended baked oats is that if you make them in the oven, it takes about 20-25 minutes to bake them. If it’s a lazy Saturday morning, that’s not a problem, but if you want to have breakfast on the table right away, I highly recommend the air fryer method. All you need to do is to preheat the air fryer for a couple minutes to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, place the ramekins inside and air fry for 8-10 minutes. They come out perfect!
You can also make baked oats in the microwave although I found that the texture is not as good as baked oats from the oven or air fryer.
I use this air fryer and I love it!
While 8-oz ramekins work best for this recipe, you can also make bakes oats in muffin tin or even a cake pan. Make sure to grease your baking container well, no matter what you’re using.
The amount of ingredients in this recipe is enough to make 4 8-oz ramekins so if you decide to use a cake pan, I would recommend doubling or tripling the recipe. The length of baking will also change, but a clean toothpick inserted into the middle of the baked oats “cake” is a good indicator of doneness.
You can if you have oat flour. Just mix all the wet ingredients in one bowl, add the oat flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa powder, mix with a spatula and your batter is good to go!

Serving suggestions
I like to serve mine warm in the ramekin placed on a plate with a side of berries and some banana. You can drizzle the top of your baked oats with more peanut butter, if you’d like, or dress it with a dollop of vanilla yogurt or plant-based yogurt. If you like a more gooey texture, they’re best eaten with a spoon. If you’re more into cake-like breakfast, bake them slightly longer (25-30 minutes), pop them out of a ramekin or muffin tin and enjoy like a muffin. Just be careful not to overbake them or they will get too dry.
