Viral Boursin Dip with Fig and Hot Honey
This Easy Boursin DIp has recently become a viral sensation on social media, and for all the right reasons! This fig and hot honey Boursin Dip is the perfect combo of creamy, crunchy, sweet, sour, and spicy and goes great. I love serving it as part of a “Boursin Appetizer Board” with my Boursin stuffed mushrooms and Prosciutto wrapped asparagus.
It’s great as an appetizer for the holiday season, but you can also easily adapt the recipe for a seasonal treat by switching out the preserves. I’ve tried a couple different versions with cranberry, blueberry, and fig preserves, and I really enjoy the fig best.
Ingredients and substitutes

- Boursin cheese - use either the shallot & chive or garlic & herb flavor
- Plain Greek yogurt - to make the dip more creamy (not pictured)
- Fig spread - look for it near fancy cheese at your grocery store or online. You can also use other preserve, such as raspberry or crannberry.
- Shelled pistachios - roughly chopped. I like roasted and salted pistachios but raw will also work. Toasted pecans or walnuts will also work.
- Hot honey - to add a litle heat
See recipe card for quantities.

What to Serve with Boursin Dip
There are so many options for what goes well with this dip! Here are some:
- Pita chips
- Crostini
- Crackers
- Sliced baguette
- Pretzel crisps
- Fresh apple slices
It’s also incredible on a holiday charcuterie board.
Storage and Make Ahead Tips
To make ahead, prepare and store the Boursin Dip in the refrigerator in an airtight container or tightly covered with plastic wrap for up to 48 hours in advance of serving.
When stored properly, Boursin dip will be good for 3-5 days from time of preparing.
Recipe Variations and Tips
- You can use the “Shallot & Chive” or the “Garlic & Herb” flavored Boursin for this recipe. I've made it with both types and both were delicious.
- If you can't find fig spread, use any other fruit preserve: raspberry, cranberry or blueberry. Orange marmalade or red pepper jelly also work great and provide bold flavor.
- Shelled pistachios can be swapped for toasted pecans, hazelnuts, almonds, or walnuts.
- Adding Greek yogurt to Boursin cheese makes the dip more spreadable and less crumbly when serving.
Recipe FAQs
It helps lighten the texture and makes it extra creamy. You can skip it, but the dip will be thicker.
Absolutely. Just use two packages of Boursin and double everything else.
